A Note From The Woodshed

Craftsman

It is good to be back into a regular routine again. Seeing all the activity here in the Woodshed tells us, a lot of people are working on projects. As always, we love to see what you have made, are in process of making, or would like to make. We are here to help you with your projects, but seeing what you have already made, is the fuel that keeps my fire burning.

As you work on your next projects, keep us in mind. At Keim, we've got several of our products that will help bring your projects to life and give them a unique look.

Casting Epoxy
Keim carries the EcoPoxy brand, including EcoPoxy Colorsa full line of Metallic Powders (30), Glitters (12), and Dyes (8) in stock. We have epoxy kits of various sizes, perfect for any size project you might have. In epoxy there are just two things that will limit you: your imagination, and maybe your wallet. 😊 Otherwise, it is a blank canvas, so let your imagination roam.

Table Legs Metal Table Legs
We have partnered with a local metal   shop to build our table legs. We carry   Hairpin-style legs done with a square rod.   (They look great!) We are open to custom   work on this product group, so if you have a   specific design or style you want, let us   know, and we will be happy to help you out.

Finishes
Are you are looking for a safe, easy-to-use Odie's Oilfinish? Try Odie’s Oil. It is a food-safe finish that can be used as a friction polish for your lathe turnings, cutting boards, and tabletops. It leaves you with a professional-looking finish, at a DIY cost. So next time you are in our showroom, visit the display in our paint department.

As always, serving you is our pleasure, because without you, there is no us.

Photography Tips For Your Project

At Keim, we love to inspire others with home and woodworking projects from our customers. We’re more likely to share the images of your projects if you follow the tips below:

Focus on the project itself.
•Remove any clutter in the background of the picture.
•Using the portrait mode so that the background is blurred and the focus is on your project.
•Use neutral/natural colors in the background.
•Any text on the photo should be limited to a logo of a local woodworker or designer.

Add interest without taking the focus from the project.
•Take photos of the project from a variety of angles.
•Take both horizontal and vertical photos.

Pay attention to lighting.
•You don’t necessarily need expensive lighting equipment, but you should make sure that your project can be seen easily.
•Try not to shoot toward the light.
•Make sure that the photo is free from your own shadow and from glares from the lighting.

Send photos to kelsey.hochstetler@keimlumber.com, with expressed, written consent for Keim to use the photos of your work, and we might use your photos to inspire others!
